Only Between Us by Mila Ferrera

Book Synopsis:

Last semester, Romy escaped from an abusive relationship with the guy she'd thought was the man of her dreams. This semester she’s putting herself back together, determined to reclaim her passion for art and for life. When she signs up for a painting class at the local art co-op, the possibility of passion becomes very real -- in the form of her teacher, Caleb. Both mysterious and seriously hot, Caleb bares his soul on his canvases, and Romy’s fascinated by what she sees.

Caleb is just trying to keep his head above water. Caring for his traumatized, unstable sister is getting harder every day, and his paintings are so dark and bleak that no one is buying. Teaching classes at the co-op is no longer enough, and now he’s going to have to sell more than just his art to the wealthy, sex-starved women in his classes. But when Romy comes along, she makes everything more complicated. She sees the truth in his paintings -- a truth no one else has realized, until now.

Romy and Caleb might have a real shot together -- one that could heal them both. But when ghosts from their pasts re-emerge, determined to keep them apart, will they be strong enough to hold on to each other?

Dark Destiny ( Dark Brothers # 4) by Bec Botefuhr

Book Synopsis:

You were with Willow and Jagger when they found their happily ever after in Dark Endings. You felt their love. You felt their relief, but what you didn't feel, was the pain they left tucked inside.

Jagger killed his own father, he suffered on an island alone being forced to fight to save his life. Now, the memories are catching up on him. The reality is haunting him. He's becoming numb. He's struggling to move on.

Willow has to do what she can to help her husband, no matter what the cost. She has to be the fighter now, she has to be the one to get him through, even if it's gritty, even if it hurts, because that's what love is.

Come on this final journey between the two, and watch how they piece their lives back together for a final time

My review:

Full on action is what these book offer in the Dark Brothers series, and we wouldn't want it any other way.

Jagger or his real name Johnny Black, meets up with Willow and the attraction has never wavered, it just went off course slightly for a short while.

Jagger has a lot of shit going on in his head, due to what his father made him do previously, and he expects everyone to abandon him, and cannot understand why they are not, but they show him just how wrong he is by sticking it out and showing him they want the old Jagger back and they will do anything to achieve it even if it means going right back to the beginning.

Willow loves Jagger with a passion that she has never before felt, he is the air she breathes, the sun to her moon, but the Jagger she has been given back after the island trip is nothing more foreign to her than speaking a different language, he has grown so distant , to her , their children to his mates and everyone he knows, he exists that's all, Willow has no idea how to bring him back, the hurt she feels towards him is so painful she can barely stand to be near him, but through it all he still can ignite the fire in her, and if she can just convince him to come back to her, it will be there once again.

Sparks fly throughout this book, and in true Bec style she represents each character well, and it is a total un put down able book.

5 stars from me

Sometimes It Lasts ( Sea Breeze # 5) by Abbi Glines

Book Synopsis:

Cage York has to choose between a love of the game and a love of the girl in this sultry Sea Breeze novel from New York Times best selling author Abbi Glines.

After waiting for his big break, bad boy Cage York is finally called up to prove his worth in the college baseball arena. But when Cage’s girlfriend, Eva, mourns the sudden loss of her father, it’s not Cage’s comforting arms she runs to, but those of her former fiancé’s twin brother, Jeremy.

Torn between his baseball dream and the girl of his dreams, Cage must prove he’s worthy of Eva’s love, or risk losing her to Jeremy forever.

My Review:

Eva loves Jeremy with all her heart, but it is not the love of a lover its the love she would have for a brother.

Eva was engaged to Jeremy's twin brother Josh and he was her world, but when he was killed she turned to Jeremy for support, she was not to know that he had fallen head over heels in love with her, he was a constant , someone who was there for her always, nothing was too big or too small for him to conquer for her.

When she was finally able to move on from the devastation that she knew and had lived and breathed every day of her life, after Josh had been killed she meet Cage and he rocked her world, and she fell hook, line and sinker in love with him.

Finding out her dad was sick was the last thing that Eva thought she would have to deal with, after all she had now lost her Mother and Josh and she felt she could not take anymore, when she is left with no choice but to make a decision that could effect her for the rest of her life, she lets Cage go to the university that he had won a scholarship too and she would stay behind, all hell breaks loose.

The baseball team he playing for finds his adverse talent hard to bare and they think he will take over the position that their long standing player has had so they set him up and try to make him bow out gracefully, and the travesties that the set up will unfold may take more than magic to piece back together again.

Can Eva take everything life is throwing at her at this moment , the answer to that is NO, she falls into the arms of the one person who has been her constant through life's hardships.....Jeremy

You will have to read this story to see how it evolves, as saying anything further would give the story away.

This was a 4 star story for me.

Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart

My Review:

Wow- words cannot express the emotional roller coaster this book will take you on.

You are introduced to something that for me I had never heard of, Slam Poetry,

and it is amazing.

Will and Layken are absolutely fantastic together and to go into more detail would totally take away the uniqueness of the story, and spoil it for you, you will just have to take my word for the fact that this is a special book, it is action packed and you will not be dissapointed one bit,  and it must be read.

Colleen you did mighty fine work with this book, I cant wait to finish book 2 , I sat glued in one spot reading 'Slammed' and didn't move for 4 hours, except of course to grab my tissues.

And I must say that for 2012 this was my favourite book !!

Whethering the storm ( The Storm # 2) by Samantha Towle

Book Synopsis:

Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible: capture the heart of rock-star bad boy Jake Wethers. Now they’re busy planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the US. Of course Tru misses London and her best friend, Simone, but living happily ever after with Jake in LA is going to be great…right?

Wrong. Even the bright California sun can’t whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake’s wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn’t want kids,

which just may be a deal breaker.

Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they’ve fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough

My review:

Well the highly waited sequel to The Mighty Storm, was it worth the wait, I'm just not sure, I'm not over the moon about it, but yes in sexual hunkiness it still lived up to all the Jake Weathers hype for sure.

It was very predictable for me, and all though the sex scenes were great it just didn't do for me what ''The Mighty Storm'' did, I mean I was so excited to read the The Mighty Storm I printed it off from the computer, because my e reader had broken and that was the only way I was going to be able to read it and I could not possibly wait two weeks until my e reader came back from the shop, if I had of done that this time, I think I perhaps may have been disappointed with the paper and ink I had used.

Would I recommend this book to all, Maybe if you want another chapter in Jake and Tru's lives yes, but was it life and death to get through this episode, NO not really, it kind of turned my very excited happy face into a very ,was this necessary upside down happy face.

I still loved Tru & Jakes integrity but it just didn't rock my boat this time.

4 stars from me
